Rabbi Avinoam Czitron

Rabbi Avinoam Czitron brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to his role as Rabbi of our community. With over a decade of Rabbinic and educational leadership spanning Israel, Europe, and the UK, Rabbi Czitron is deeply committed to fostering meaningful Jewish engagement and Torah learning.

He currently serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the Conference of European Rabbis, contributing to the development of Jewish communities across Europe.

Rabbi Czitron’s previous roles include serving as Rabbi of Borehamwood Shul and Yavneh College (2023–2024), Head of the Beit Midrash programme at Yavneh College, and Rabbi of Childwall Hebrew Congregation in Liverpool (2019–2022). Earlier in his career, he was Rabbi of Tzeirei Tziyon in Netanya and held several educational roles, including teaching in prisons, guiding groups on Shoah and heritage tours in Europe, particularly in Poland, and leading Taglit and leadership programmes for Jewish youth.

His impressive educational background includes Semicha from renowned rabbis and institutions such as the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, Rav Baruch Mordechai Ezrachi, and Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg. He also holds an MA from the London School of Jewish Studies, as well as an LL.B. and MBA from Ono Law School.

In addition to his Rabbinic leadership, Rabbi Czitron is a qualified Mohel, certified mediator, and family counselor, and he brings warmth. He has also served as a Chazzan during the Yamim Noraim in prestigious shuls across Europe.

Rabbi Czitron’s personal interests include hiking and traveling around the world. He takes a special interest in researching the history, culture, and traditions of Jewish communities in each destination he visits, as well as exploring the unique character of local shuls.

He is dedicated to building a vibrant, inclusive, and spiritually uplifting community, and he looks forward to strengthening our connection to Torah, Tfilah and Achdut.
