3rd December 2023 — a day I will never forget.
It was the day my wife’s brother, Benji Needham, fell in battle in Gaza while defending the State of Israel. He was only 19.

The past two years have been unbearably hard for our family, for the country, and for Jews around the world. As we slowly begin to emerge from this awful war, Benji’s family and friends are determined to create something positive and meaningful in his name.
‘Benji’s Light Point’ will be a living, breathing memorial near his home in Zichron Yaakov — a place that will carry forward the love, kindness, and inclusivity he embodied.
Set on a hill, overlooking the landscape he adored, it will serve as a space for activities, volunteer days, and educational programs. It will be a place of peace and healing, hosting gatherings, therapy, and workshops for bereaved families and for anyone affected physically or emotionally by Israel’s wars. We hope it will be a special landmark for his unit, the Combat Engineers too.
The designs are complete, and the local authorities are fully engaged. But building this vision will be costly. – We need your help.
We have just 1 week to raise 1 million NIS for this initiative.
Below is a link to a short promotional video explaining the project, in both English and Hebrew.
If you are able, we would be so grateful if you could consider donating through the same link.
With thanks,
