Dear Members of the Yeshurun Community,
The support of Torah education is a cornerstone of Jewish communal life and tradition and our community has always been in the forefront in supporting this mitzvah.
The Edgware Yeshurun Synagogue Yeshiva & Seminary Fund was created in 2005 to provide funding for the benefit of children and young persons of the Edgware community to further their Jewish education by attending Yeshiva, Girls Seminary and such other courses of Jewish study that may be available.
Over the past 20 years the Fund has assisted children of less well-off Yeshurun families and of the wider Edgware community to spend a year at Yeshiva/Sem or to attend Courses but we are now in need of further funding to continue this activity.
Chanukah (Dedication) and Chinuch (Education) are closely linked as both stem from the Hebrew root חנוך . This link fosters the power of education which allows our children to shine and flourish as individuals and this is a central theme of this holiday. We turn to you, our fellow members, to support the Fund
The fund is a UK registered charity (No. 1111523) and donations can be made to HSBC sort code 40-07-24, account number 41305670 account name ‘YFS Yeshiva’.
Donations can also be made by cheque or charity voucher, payable to ‘YFS Yeshiva’ and sent to our shul office – Fernhurst Gardens, Edgware HA8 7PH.
Thank you for your support.
We wish you all a very happy Chanukah
Jonathan Gilmour, Royston Colman, Stephen Deutsch (Trustees)
