Dear Kehilla,
We were deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the arson attack on Hatzola ambulances in Golders Green. This was a serious act of hatred that harms not only property, but the core values of חסד, care, and responsibility that define our community.
At times like this, when people may feel anxious or unsettled, we remind ourselves:
“הנה לא ינום ולא ישן שומר ישראל.”
Hatzola represents dedication, volunteerism, and a commitment to saving lives without hesitation. We are blessed to have members of our own Kehilla who volunteer with Hatzola. An attack on them is an attack on the heart of what we stand for, but it will not break our רוח.
We stand in full solidarity with the Golders Green Kehilla, and we support all those who work tirelessly to protect and serve the communityת Jews and non-Jews alike.
In moments like these, it is more important than ever to strengthen our unity and care for one another. משה רבנו saw the burning bush, a fire that burned, yet did not consume. So too, we face moments of pain and shock, but we are not destroyed by them.
The fire that damaged the ambulances was meant to harm and intimidate, but it will not diminish the חסד and care that define us. If anything, it strengthens our resolve to continue.
May we merit days of safety, peace, and strength, and continue to build a strong and united Kehilla.
בברכה,
Rabbi Avinoam Czitron
