Dear members, Thank you for the warm reception given to Jeremy and me in shul last shabbat and for all your contributions of supplies to The Michael Levin Base. As I said, we have been completely overwhelmed by everyone’s generosity and thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Your donations will go directly to Israeli soldiers fighting on the front line.
Please click HERE to see a letter of thanks from the charity.
Many people have asked about making a donation as they didn’t get around to buying supplies in time.
The easiest way to make a donation is via our web page https://causematch.com/thebase-donate where there is a drop down box to donate in GBP.
Alternatively you can make a donation via Toremet https://uktoremet.org.uk/for-donors/#GiftAid and specify that the donation is for The Michael Levin Base and you can claim Gift Aid on your donation.
Once again, a huge thanks for all your help and praying for peace in Israel and a safe return of the hostages.
Michelle Fisher
Dear members,
We have been contacted by Michelle and Jeremy Fisher, who many of you will remember as long-standing members of Yeshurun and who now live in Israel.
They do a lot of voluntary work for The Michael Levin Base in Jerusalem, supporting lone soldiers and lone b’not sherut (young women who carry out National Service in Israel) and who are away from their families who live abroad. The charity provides practical and emotional support to these courageous young people.
The ongoing war means that The Base have been able to expand their mission to help all soldiers serving in the IDF, whether they are classed as ‘lone’ or not. In recent months The Michael Levin Base staff and volunteers have worked around the clock to ensure that Israel’s soldiers have received the services, gear, supplies, meals and emotional support they need to help them during Operation Swords of Iron.
At present, The Base is really low on basic supplies, that are massively relied upon, and there is a need to urgently restock in anticipation of a Northern campaign.
Michelle and Jeremy are going to be in London during the last week of June and, when they return to Israel on 1st July, they are happy to take back extra cases with supplies if these can be obtained. We have been given a precise list of what is needed (see below) and is much easier to get in the UK, rather than in Israel. These are very specific items and it is best to keep to the Amazon links below (with the exception of the last items which can be sourced wherever is cheapest and available).
Simone and Ben Mire have kindly agreed that their address can be used as a drop off point and Michelle and Jeremy will ensure that whatever is donated will be delivered directly and quickly to The Michael Levin Base. Please be assured that all items donated, no matter how small, will go directly to our brave soldiers serving on the front line. The Base can never have too many of anything, so all quantities are appreciated.
